What to Expect During Your Pet’s Wellness Exam
When you bring your pet in for a wellness exam, one of our veterinarians will check them over from the end of their snout to the tip of their tail. They will also check their weight and temperature, take a peek inside their ears and mouth, and palpate their abdomen. They do this to look for signs of disease and to assess your furry friend’s overall condition.
During the exam, the vet will also talk to you about your pet’s lifestyle and what their home environment is like. They may make recommendations regarding preventive services, such as vaccinations or parasite control, or offer suggestions relating to your pet’s diet and exercise needs. This is a great time for you to ask questions, too! At Abbey Vet Hospital, we always take the time to ensure that our patients’ owners leave feeling informed and confident in caring for their pets.
