Taking my pets to previous vet visits used to be so scary, but ever since I moved I decided to give Abbey Vet a chance and I am extremely happy with all the care and attention they give my pets. You can tell it’s people who genuinely love taking care of pets and that made me feel so much better. This will 100% be my primary Vet from now on!

This positive review is long overdo as I'd like to acknowledge Abby Vet Hospital on 18th Street in Antioch!
My 16.5 year old senior male cat, Jody, received quality care in December and part of January
Dr. Sushma Penta, DVM was very kind and patient with my cat and with me with all my questions after he got very sick with an infection. She seemed genuinely concerned and really acted like she cared about my pet's health and well being. Her entire staff, especially Madison, were also very kind and patient as well.
Jody was not feeling well and had stopped eating and drinking and became weak and lethargic. Dr. Sushma is very hands on and examined my cat thoroughly and ordered blood work. She advised that his blood work looked pretty good for a senior cat and said he may have a virus. He was given Subqfluids, Antibiotic injection and prescribed several medications to take home. She advised to bring him back if no improvement, which I did a few times, at no extra exam charge from her! (She told me to bring him back anytime if I did not feel he was doing well. He had a rough few weeks.) She was patient and even provided instruction on home care with the IV Subqfluid treatments to help keep him hydrated. It took about 4 weeks as he would get better but then get sick again, however my cat finally turned the corner and got better after the 4th week.
Thank you to Abby Vet Hospital and Dr.
Sushma for your time, patience and great care to me and my senior cat!

Our Dog Marlow was rushed in on a Sunday evening 7:30 pm
We thought he had been poisoned as he was stumbling drooling incoherent.
The staff quickly responded took him in the back and helped us immediately as I was in tears and so was my husband.
We found out he was not poisoned. That he was hit with old dogs diesel.this is like vertigo for humans.
We were unsure if he would pull through and be able to walk eat or anything. He spent 3 nights at the hospital. All of the vet assistants took such amazing care of him. The bill was acceptable for and emergency and 3 night stay with 24 hr care.
Marlow has made a full re every at home barking eating walking thanks to the help and 24 hr phone call support.

My dog had unexplained swelling in her paw. Things became bad for Honey very quickly and I wasn't sure how to help. Over a period of 24 hours things got so bad, she needed attention right away. I had trouble finding a vet with open appointments soon enough to see her. This office was able to see her and perform urgent surgery on her ASAP. Honey ended up having extensive damage to her paw. After care was going to be very hard and she needed to be monitored continuously. The recovery process and medications were explained in detail and staff were very sweet with her. Cost / fees were estimated upfront and the office provided excellent care within a reasonable budget. She had a total of 3 visits and each time Honey went running up to them to say hello. I want to give a BIG thanks to the Vet and all of the staff for their help with Honey. She was back to her normal self within 2 1/2 weeks. Although, she is still recovering she can't wait to get back to hiking and paddle boarding this summer. Thank you for taking the time and patience in getting her back to herself. 💕
